We’ve had our first winner! 〰️

Since we started this racing club earlier this year, we have enjoyed plenty of runners and some lovely days out at the races, but we were just missing that elusive winner. Step in Bollin Neil. The loveable Chesnut made the trip to Musselburgh to face two rivals over 1m6f. Last year, he was a course and distance winner, so we were hopeful of a good run from him. As is often the case with small fields, the race was run in an unusual fashion, with all three contenders leading at some point. However, stable jockey David Allan kept his cool and delivered Bollin Neil to win by just over a length.

It was a 7th career victory for Bollin Neil, who was bred by Tim and is the third generation of his family to be trained at Habton Grange. He’s one of everyone’s favourites at the yard because of his relaxed, chilled out demeanour. We can’t wait for all of our members to come and meet him when we organise the first of our yard visits.
